Allen Americans News Release


The Allen Americans continue their South Texas swing Wednesday, night, November 15th against the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees. Allen defeated Rio 3-1 last Wednesday, opening the five game road trip. The Americans are in third place in the Berry Conference, one point behind second place Tulsa, with two games in hand.

November 9th Allen 3 Rio Grande Valley 1

Keith Johnson's powerplay goal in the second period turned out to be the game winner as the Americans defeated the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees 3-1 at State Farm Arena. Allen goalie Brian Mahoney-Wilson made his third consecutive start picking up the win.

November 11th Allen 6 Laredo 1

Allen scores three second period goals on their way to a 6-1 win over the Bucks. Americans enforcer Brett Cloutier scored a goal and added an assist on the night as the Americans go to 2-0 on the South Texas road trip.

November 12th Allen 2 Laredo 1

The Americans and Bucks played a matinee affair on Saturday wrapping up the quick two game set with a 2-1 win for the Americans over Laredo. Allen erased a 1-0 first period deficit on Jarret Luken's goal in the second period. Bruce Graham broke the tie in the third with his 5th of the season, the eventual game winner. Americans newly signed goaltender Marco Cousineau made his first start for Allen picking up the win.

Allen netminder Marco Cousineau was acquired on reassignment from the Anaheim Ducks on 11-11-11. Cousineau won his first start 2-1 at Laredo on 11-12-11
