Arizona Sundogs News Release
PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs took points in three of their five road games over the past two weeks and now return home for a three-game set against the Texas Brahmas starting on Thursday night.
Last week's record: 0-2-1
Season overall: 2-5-3, 7 pts. 6th, Berry Conference
-- LAST WEEK'S GAMES -
Wednesday at Laredo, 6-3 Loss
It was a penalty filled contest that featured 105 total penalty minutes, four game misconducts, a match penalty, and ultimately three suspensions all stemming from an open-ice, blindside elbow to Arizona's Daymen Rycroft by Laredo's Todd Griffith. Rycroft has not returned to Arizona's lineup since the incident.
Friday at Rio Grande Valley, 4-3 (SO) Overtime Loss
Luke Erickson's shorthanded goal a minute into the third gave Arizona a 3-1 lead, but the Killer Bees forced overtime with two goals in less than two minutes midway through. As the game headed into a shootout, John Murray turned aside each Sundogs shooter he faced, while the first three Killer Bees scored to complete the comeback for the Bees.
Saturday at Rio Grande Valley, 3-1 Loss
Levente Szuper was the star of the night with 48 saves for the Sundogs, but Corey Toy's first career goal was all the Sundogs could manage offensively against Rio's Wylie Rogers in his first appearance of the season. Aaron Lee scored a pair for the Bees and David Marshall added an empty-net goal in the final second of play.
