UNEARNED RUN SINKS WINSTON-SALEM After spoiling a pair of one-run leads, the Dash surrendered an unearned run in the eighth inning, which carried Lynchburg past Winston-Salem 3-2 on Monday night at City Stadium. With two outs in the eighth, Josh Elander rolled a ball to short, but Joey DeMichele's throw hopped past first base and allowed David Rohm to score from second. For the second straight night, the Dash wasted a scoring chance in the ninth inning of a one-run tilt. Starter Myles Jaye, who recorded his 11th quality start in 17 outings (7.0IP, 2R, 1ER), settled for a no decision.

SWEEPING SUCCESS For the second straight series, Winston-Salem enters the finale without a victory in the set. The Dash, who squeeked past Salem 3-2 Saturday night to avoid a sweep, have only been swept once over their previous 93 series (April 5-7, 2013 at Carolina). During this span, which stretches back to July of 2011, Winston owns a CL-best 17 sweeps. In the Dash era (2009-present), Winston-Salem has failed to win at least one game in a series only eight times.

ROCKY ROAD Winston-Salem has dropped six of its last seven games, a run duplicated only once by the Dash over the last two seasons. The Dash also lost six of seven from May 4-12. If the Dash do not respond with a victory in the road trip finale Tuesday, Winston-Salem will post a multi-series road trip with only one victory for the first time since a 1-5 swing through Wilmington and Frederick from April 29-May 4 of 2011.

CHRIS CROSS With a hit tonight, Chris Curley will match the longest hitting streak by a Dash swinger in 2013. During his current 11-game hit streak, Curley is 15-for-44 (.341) with a homer, five RBIs and six runs scored. Curley is aiming to match Joey DeMichele (June 2-12) and Micah Johnson (July 18-30) for the club's longest streaks. Curley leads the CL in homers (22) and RBIs (84).

A GAME OF RUNS Winston-Salem leads the Carolina League in total runs (616) and runs per game (5.2), but the squad has mustered only 30 runs over its last 9 games, during which the Dash own a 2-7 record. During this slump, the Dash have not recorded more than five runs in any game, which is the second-longest such run this season. Winston-Salem failed to eclipse the five-run mark in 10 consecutive contests from April 15-24, but the Dash still split those 10 games.

ATOP MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL Dash infielder Micah Johnson paces all minor league players with 77 stolen bases and 99 runs scored. Within the stolen base category, Billy Hamilton of Louisville (Triple-A, Cincinnati) and Travis Jankowski of Lake Elsinore (High-A, San Diego) share second place with 69. With a first-inning tally Monday, Johnson pulled ahead of fellow White Sox farmhand Marcus Semien by one run. Semien, who played in the Triad in 2012, scored 90 runs in Double-A Birmingham and has eight so far with Triple-A Charlotte.

ANOTHER WRAP Following Winston-Salem's season series finale with Lynchburg tonight, the Dash conclude their regular season action against Salem with a three-game set at BB&T Ballpark. The Red Sox own a narrow 9-8 edge in the season series. Since becoming the Dash in 2009, Winston has a sub-.500 record against only the Red Sox (45-54-1, .455 - regular season and playoffs).

DASH DOTS Winston-Salem is now 6-13 against the Hillcats and 31-15 (.674) versus the rest of the Northern Division...The Dash have never lost 14 games against one team during the regular season...The franchise last saw a 14-loss season series in 2008 when the Warthogs went 6-14 against Myrtle Beach...The Dash have committed 12 errors on this trip, and Winston has had at least one error in all five games...The Dash are 20-32 (.385) in games decided by one or two runs.
