Winston-Salem Dash News Release

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Winston Salem Dash dropped a nail-biting loss to the Asheville Tourists 5-4.

It was Brandon Bossard who got the Dash rolling offensively, when he crushed a solo blast to right field in the third inning, staking Andrew Dalquist to a 1-0 lead.

But in the bottom half, Dalquist issued back-to-back walks to Kenedy Corona and Deury Carrasco**.* After a successful double steal, *Michael Sandle's ground out to third was enough to plate Corona and tie the game. The next batter, **JC Correa, doubled down the left field line to score Carrasco, and the Tourists pulled ahead 2-1.

Asheville extended their lead to 3-1 in the home half of the fourth inning, thanks to a solo home run by Luis Guerrero**.**

Winston-Salem had a counterpunch ready in the top of the fifth inning. Jason Matthews crushed a leadoff home run, then Brandon Bossard cranked his second long ball of the evening to tie the game at three. After a mound visit, Caberea Weaver kept the train rolling with a third straight homer to give the Dash a 4-3 lead.

But in the bottom of the fifth, JC Correa smoked another RBI double. This one scored Michael Sandle all the way from first base, and tied the game once again.

Now in the home half of the sixth, Zach Daniels slapped a leadoff single into right field. Then, Luis Guerrero reached base on a fielder's choice, and a wild throw to first base allowed Daniels to take third. The very next batter CJ Stubbs singled as well, with Daniels scoring to give Asheville a slim 5-4 lead.

Winston-Salem was unable to scratch across the tying run late in this one, and dropped game three of the series 5-4.

Kyle Gruller got the win for Asheville, Spencer Arrighetti locked down the save, and Chase Plymell got the loss for the Dash.
