WINSTON-SALEM, NC (MAY 23, 2010) - The Dash hit three more home runs to finish off a series sweep of the Lynchburg Hillcats with a 7-3 victory on Sunday afternoon at BB&T Ballpark. It was the second sweep of Lynchburg in a week for the Winston-Salem, which begins its longest road trip of the season on Tuesday night.

The Dash (31-13) got on the scoreboard first in the third inning against Hillcats starter Brad Boxberger (3-4). With two men out, Brand Short doubled and scored when Eduardo Escobar tripled to right to put Winston ahead 1-0.

Lynchburg (17-27) tied the game in the fourth on an RBI single by Miguel Rojas.

The Hillcats' run seemed to ignite the Dash offense in the bottom of the fourth inning. Seth Loman swatted a titanic home run to center field on the first pitch of the inning to give Winston-Salem back the lead. After Boxberger retired the next two hitters, Kyle Shelton doubled and Jordan Cheatham walked. Justin Greene followed with an RBI single to right that was bobbled by Josh Fellhauer, allowing Cheatham and Short to advance to third and second, respectively.

Pat Kelly then lifted his starter in favor of Jordan Hotchkiss, one of the best relievers in the Carolina League this season. Hotchkiss was greeted by a two-run single off the bat of Short to put the Dash up 5-1. It capped a four-run inning, marking the third straight game that Winston scored four runs in the fourth.

The Dash added to its advantage in the fifth. Jon Gilmore hit the first pitch of the inning out of the park for his second homer of the season. It came almost exactly a week after his first home run, which was also against the Hillcats. Luis Sierra capped the scoring for Winston-Salem with his first home run of the season, a shot over the short wall beyond right field.

Neftali Soto hit a two-run home run off Charlie Leesman (6-1) in the sixth to cut into the Dash lead, but the Hillcats could not muster any more offense against Leesman and the Winston pen.

Leesman got credit for his league-leading sixth win after allowing three runs on six hits in 5.2 innings. Boxberger took the loss after going 3.2 innings and giving up five runs (four earned).

Every Dash player collected a hit and seven of the nine starters scored a run.

The Dash ended its seven-game home stand with a 5-2 mark and now owns the best record in all of minor league baseball.

Winston-Salem has an off-day on Monday before starting a nine-game road trip on Tuesday. The Dash will play the Salem Red Sox in a three-game series. RHP Terry Doyle (0-1, 4.50) makes his second start for Winston against RHP Caleb Clay (4-1, 4.85). First pitch is scheduled at 7:05 p.m. and fans may tune into the webcast pre-game show beginning at 6:45 on www.wsdash.com.
