
Cats Swept Up By Dash Again

Lynchburg fell to 0-6 against Winston-Salem this season with a 7-3 loss on Sunday afternoon at BB&T Ballpark. It was the second time in two weekends that the Dash have swept the Cats in a three-game series.
Winston-Salem plated the first run of the game in the bottom of the third with a two-out RBI by Eduardo Escobar. Lynchburg responded with a run in the top of the fourth to tie the game at one. Miguel Rojas singled home Neftali Soto, who started the inning with a double.
In the bottom of the fourth though the Dash who put a four spot up on the board to take the lead for good. Seth Loman smacked his league leading 12th home run of the season in the frame, it was his second in two games for the Dash clean-up hitter. The next inning Winston-Salem tacked on two more runs with a pair of solo homers, one by Jon Gilmore and the other by Luis Sierra, his first of the season.
The Hillcats plated two more runs in the sixth inning when Neftali Soto crushed a mammoth two-run blast out to left field to make it a 7-3 game. For Soto, it was his sixth long ball of the season.
The win went to starter Charles Leesman (6-1) for Winston-Salem. The loss went to starter Brad Boxberger (3-4) for Lynchburg (17-27). Boxberger began the season 3-1 with a 1.44 ERA in his first five starts of the season, but since then has gone 1-3 with a 7.17 ERA in his last four outings. The Hillcats were swept for the second time in two weekends by the Dash, they have lost 10 of their last 12 and 13 of their last 16 games.
After an off-day on Monday the Cats head to Myrtle Beach for a three-game series with the Pelicans that begins on Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. at BB&T Coastal Field. Left-hander Matt Fairel (4-1, 3.47) is slated to get the start for the Cats opposite righty Julio Teheran (0-0, 1.29) for the Birds.
