Winston-Salem Dash News Release

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Winston-Salem Dash fell to the Rome Emperors, 8-0, on Thursday evening at Truist Stadium in front of 4,392 fans.

Rome (9-7) got on the board early and were able to hold the lead throughout. Kevin Kilpatrick Jr. walked to lead off the game against Winston-Salem (7-11) starter, Peyton Pallette, and scored on a RBI single from Adam Zebrowski giving the visitors an early 1-0 advantage.

In the second, Kilpatrick Jr. drove home a run on a base knock while Sabin Ceballas made it a 3-0 game with a sacrifice fly as the Dash trailed early.

At the plate, the Dash could not figure out Owen Murphy. Murphy retired the first 18 batters he saw before Loidel Chapelli ended Murphy's perfect game bid with a leadoff triple in the seventh. Winston-Salem could not push Chapelli across as Murphy finished his night after seven, allowing one hit and striking out ten.

The Emperors tacked on five more runs in the top of the ninth, taking down the Dash, 8-0.

The Dash and Emperors meet for Game Four on Friday night. First pitch is slated for 7:00 p.m. from Truist Stadium.
