December 2, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
San Diego Gulls News Release

SAN DIEGO — The San Diego Gulls announced Thursday that Darren Clark has been named the Kristy's MVP/Stewart Benjamin Jewelry Player of the Month for November. Clark will be presented the award in a pre-game ceremony before Saturday's game.

Clark, in his first season with the Gulls, leads the team with eight assists, 13 points and a plus-minus rating of +5. He is second on the club with five goals. Clark also had an eight-game point streak (Oct. 23 – Nov. 17), which is second longest in the ECHL so far this season. In November, he registered six points (2g, 4a) and was a +2.

The 5-foot-8-inch, 180-pound native of Superior Wis. did not play professionally last season. Prior to joining the Gulls, Clark last played for the ECHL's Peoria Rivermen in 2002-03. The 29-year old forward spent four years with Peoria, also playing a few games in the American Hockey League during that that time. Clark notched a career high 24 goals and 56 points with Peoria in 1999-00, his rookie year.

The Gulls continue their long homestand with three games this weekend against the defending Kelly Cup Champion Idaho Steelheads. Friday's game starts at 7:05 p.m. and beanie hats will be given to the first 5,000 fans in attendance. At Saturday's game, which also begins at 7:05 p.m., the first 6,000 fans will get a Gulls baseball cap. The Sunday game is a 5:05 p.m. start and will be another "Kids Night," featuring "Skate with the Gulls."

All games can be heard live on KLSD 1360AM and www.sandiegogulls.com with Chris Ello calling the play-by-play.
