
Wheeling's Sabourin Named Sun National Bank ECHL Saver of the Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Dany Sabourin of the Wheeling Nailers is the Sun
National Bank ECHL Saver of the Month for November.
Under contract to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, the
24-year-old Sabourin won his last six starts of the month to finish 8-1-0
with three shutouts, a goals-against average of 1.17 and a save percentage
of .959.
Sabourin, who was recalled to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Wednesday, led ECHL
goaltenders during the month with eight wins and three shutouts while his
goals-against average (1.17) and save percentage (.959) were the second
lowest in the league.
Tied for the league lead with three shutouts and 10 wins, Sabourin is
10-2-0 and leads the league in shootout wins with three while ranking
second in goals-against average (1.28) and save percentage (.956).
Sabourin began the month posting back-to-back 2-0 shutouts, making 34
saves at Dayton on November 5 and 30 saves against Reading on November 6.
Following a 4-2 loss to Reading on November 11, Sabourin made 29 saves in a
1-0 win against Peoria, beginning the six-game winning streak. He made 36
saves in a 4-1 win against Johnstown on November 17 and stopped 27 shots in
a 2-1 overtime win at Atlantic City on November 19. He had 23 saves in a
7-3 win against Dayton on November 24 and 16 saves in a 3-2 overtime win
against Trenton on November 26. He ended the month stopping 26 shots in a
3-1 win at Toledo.
Sabourin, who has accounted for all of Wheeling's victories, has twice
been named ECHL Saver of the Week - October 25-31 and November 1-7.
