Bullies' Edwardson Named CCM Vector ECHL Rookie of the Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies center Derek Edwardson is the CCM Vector ECHL Rookie of the Month for November.

After scoring two points (1g-1a) in his first five games, the 5-9 and 180-pound Edwardson led Atlantic City with eight goals and tied for the league lead with 18 points in November, scoring a point in all but three games as the Boardwalk Bullies went 10-2-1.

The 23-year-old Edwardson leads ECHL rookies in scoring with 19 points and is tied for the rookie lead with seven power-play points. He is tied for second among rookies in goals (9), assists (10) and power-play assists (5). He leads the league in plus-minus rating (+12) while ranking fifth overall in scoring and tied for fifth overall in goals.

In the final game of the month, Edwardson had his first multiple-goal game and his first hat trick, finishing with four points (3g-1a) and a plus-minus rating of +4 in a 6-3 win against Trenton on November 27. He finished November with a four-game scoring streak, registering a team-leading five goals and 10 points.

Edwardson had a career-high three assists in a 5-2 win against South Carolina on November 20 and finished November with five multiple-point games.

In four seasons at Miami University (Ohio), Edwardson scored 120 points (38g-82a) in 135 games, including career highs as a senior with 17 goals, 31 assists and 48 points in 41 games.

Runners Up: Martin St. Pierre, Greenville (12 gp, 4g, 11a, 15 pts) and Kelly Guard, Charlotte (6-1-0, 2.29 GAA, .918 save pct.)
