
Darin Erstad to rehab with Quakes

Rancho Cucamonga, CA- Angels' infielder/outfielder Darin Erstad is scheduled to rehab as designated hitter on Friday, June 2 at 7:05pm with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. On May 1 Erstad was removed from the lineup due to a sore right ankle and placed on the 15-day disabled list May 8 (retroactive May 1). Erstad suffered a bone spur in the same ankle during Spring Training.
Erstad last saw action on April 30 vs. the White Sox. Prior to being placed on the DL, Erstad was batting .238 with 4 RBI. The Angels activated Juan Rivera to fill the vacant spot.
Erstad is in his eleventh season with the Angels. He is ranked second among American League first baseman with his .997 fielding percentage; good for best in the Major Leagues since 2002 along with John Olerud. Erstad is one in eight players in club history to appear in 1,000 games and one of four players to score 800 or more runs.
Erstad was the 2005 recipient of the Roberto Clemente Award for his community-driven efforts throughout Southern California.
