UNIONDALE, NY - DaQuan Jeffries scored a season-high 33 points, but it was not enough as the Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, fell to the Long Island Nets, 116-107, at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum Tuesday evening. The loss halts the Knicks' five-game win streak.

There was a one-point separation between both clubs, Long Island (9-6) leading 92-91, at the 9:06 mark of the fourth quarter on the tail end of a two-point valued free-throw by Tra Holder. The defense heated up and of the next 11 possessions, spanning the next three minutes, ten were empty excluding a bucket by Jordan Bowden with 8:21 remaining. With just over six minutes to go, a floater by James Akinjo brought the Knicks (6-8) back within one, 94-93, but the Nets quickly drove its lead back up double figures, 105-95, two minutes later. From that point on, Westchester was unable to get within nine and the contest was settled by that margin.

Over the course of the Knicks five-game win streak, the team shot upwards of 40-percent from three while holding its opponents to closer to 29-percent. Tonight, the Knicks only shot 29.6-percent from downtown with the Nets shooting 35.9-percent from far.

Jeffries' (Two-Way) 33 points were accompanied by nine boards and three assists. The forward also shot 4-8 from three. Garrison Brooks registered another double-double made up of 20 points on 60-percent and 10 rebounds. Nuni Omot (affiliate) chipped in 19 points as a reserve and has now scored double figures in six of his last seven games. Holder and Akinjo both finished with 12 points apiece.

Long Island had eight scorers in double-figures led by Day'Ron Sharpe's 19 points and 12 rebounds. Bowden had 16 points. Chris Chiozza ended with 13 points and nine assists.

The Knicks stay in Long Island for another battle Thursday, December 15at 7 PM ET.
