MEGA MOUSSA: LA Clippers two-way player Moussa Diabate was named the NBA G League Player of the Week for games played Monday, Dec. 5 through Sunday, Dec. 11. The 6-10 forward averaged a double-double of 26.0 points and 21.5 rebounds in two games for the Ontario Clippers. The former Michigan standout has scored more than 20 points in eight games this season. Diabate and the Clippers visit the Stockton Kings tonight at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
WATCH OUT FOR WISEMAN: Golden State Warriors assignee James Wiseman is continuing his strong play in the NBA G League. The No. 2 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft posted his fifth consecutive double-double with 24 points and 16 rebounds in the Santa Cruz Warriors' 122-111 victory over the Oklahoma City Blue on Dec. 11, extending the team's winning streak to four games. Wiseman and the Warriors visit Scotty Pippen Jr. (22.9 ppg, 4.9 apg) and South Bay Lakers tomorrow at 10 p.m. on ESPN+.
TIGHT RACE IN THE CENTRAL: Four teams - the Cleveland Charge, Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Iowa Wolves and Windy City Bulls - are in contention for the top spot in the Central Region. Cleveland, currently on a four-game winning streak, has been led by Sharife Cooper (25.5 ppg, 7.7 apg) while Gabe York (24.7 ppg, 4.0 apg) has propelled Fort Wayne. Iowa ranks fourth in scoring (118.3 ppg) and Windy City ranks third in rebounding (48.7 rpg).
The 2022 AT&T NBA G League Winter Showcase, the league's annual in-season scouting event, will take place Dec. 19-22 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. The 2022 event marks the 18th Showcase and includes 31 games over four days across two courts. Building on the success of the 2021 Showcase Cup, the 2022 Winter Showcase will once again feature the expanded NBA G League Showcase Cup Tournament, a single-elimination tournament where eight teams will compete for the Showcase Cup Championship.
On Dec. 6, Mexico City Capitanes forward Alfonzo McKinnie (right) finished with a double-double of 31 points and 11 rebounds in a 126-112 win over the Memphis Hustle.
Dallas Mavericks assignee Jaden Hardy recorded 39 points, eight rebounds and four assists for the Texas Legends in a 129-121 win over the Austin Spurs on Dec. 9.
Also on Dec. 9, Houston Rockets assignee Josh Christopher registered 35 points, nine assists and seven rebounds for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in a 133-126 victory over the Lakeland Magic.
Miami Heat two-way player Orlando Robinson had 26 points and 21 rebounds for the Sioux Falls Skyforcre in a 118-95 victory over the Motor City Cruise on Dec. 10.
