Dan Murphy Recalled to AHL

Lexington, KY- Lexington Men O' War General Manager of Hockey Operations/ Head Coach Jim Wiley announced today goaltender Dan Murphy has been recalled to the Worcester Ice Cats of the American Hockey League.
Murphy has played 68 AHL games in his career compiling a record of 25 wins, 27 losses and 4 ties. Murphy has also recorded three shutouts while playing in the AHL. During the 1999-2000 season, Murphy appeared in the AHL All-Star Game as a member of the Quebec Citadelles. He returns to Worcester after making his pro debut there during the 1998-99 season.
Murphy started both games for the MOW on opening weekend. On opening night, Murphy stopped 29 of 34 Greensboro shots including 3 of 5 in a shootout. Despite Murphy's efforts, the MOW fell 4-3 in a shootout. On Saturday, Murphy stopped 25 of 28 shots, but the MOW were shutout by Greensboro 3-0.
The Men O' War play their first road game of the season tonight in Peoria, IL. After taking on the Rivermen, the MOW return home on Sunday to host the Toledo Storm at 6:00 p.m.
