
Dallas Returns Benn & Nilstorp to Texas

CEDAR PARK, TX - The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that Dallas has returned defenseman Jordie Benn and goaltender Cristopher Nilstorp to Texas.
Benn, 25, has zero points, four penalty minutes and seven shots in eight games for Dallas this season. He returns to Texas ranking second among defensemen in scoring with 17 points (7 goals, 10 assists) and leads the defense corps with five power play goals in 34 games for the Stars AHL affiliate. The native of Victoria, British Columbia went undrafted and was signed by Dallas as a free agent on July 1, 2011.
Nilstorp, 28, missed the last four games with a groin injury. He has skated in two games for Dallas this season and has an 0-2-0 record with a .918 save percentage (SV%) and a 2.70 goals-against average (GAA). The Malmo, Sweden native made his NHL debut on Jan. 20 against Minnesota stopping 31-of-32 shots in 59 minutes of play. Prior to being recalled by Dallas, Nilstorp appeared in 28 games for Texas where he earned a 16-10-0 record with a 2.13 GAA, .916 SV% and four shutouts. Nilstorp went undrafted and was signed by Dallas as a free agent on June 5, 2012.
Dallas made these transactions after activating both Nilstorp and center Derek Roy from Injured Reserve. The Stars are on the road tonight as they take on the Colorado Avalanche at 8:00 p.m. CST at Pepsi Center in Denver.
