Rampage Raise $42,000 on Pink in the Rink Night

SAN ANTONIO (February 4, 2013) - The San Antonio Rampage raised $42,000 from a postgame jersey auction to benefit breast health awareness efforts following their third annual Pink in the Rink Night on Friday, Feb. 1, in which the Rampage earned a 1-0 victory over the Rockford IceHogs in front of a sell-out crowd of 16,205 fans. In three years, Pink in the Rink Nights have raised $116,000 to help in the fight against breast cancer.

The Rampage wore pink-themed jerseys that were auctioned off to raise money for breast health awareness. Seven Rampage jerseys were auctioned off for more than $2,000 apiece: Jacob Markstrom ($2,400), Nolan Yonkman ($2,300), Jon Rheault ($2,200), Eric Selleck ($2,200), Michael Caruso ($2,000), Scott Timmins ($2,000) and Justin Vaive ($2,000). Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich's game-worn tie raised $500 and ties worn by the Spurs assistant coaches and signed by Manu Ginobili, Kawhi Leonard and Borris Diaw raised a combined $1,300. In addition, Rampage head coach Chuck Weber's game-worn tie was auctioned for $300, a pink hockey stick signed by the 2012-13 Rampage team went for $650 and T-Bone's game-worn jersey raised $1,100 for breast health awareness.

The Rampage set a franchise attendance record as a sell-out crowd of 16,205 fans watched the Rampage skate on pink ice. The crowd was also the largest in an American Hockey League arena this season.

The Silver and Black will kick off their nine-game, 21-day Rodeo Road Trip tonight (Monday) with a 7:05 tilt against the Houston Aeros. The game will air live on FOX Sports Southwest with Rampage play-by-play broadcaster Dan Weiss and Spurs television host and in-game reporter Andrew Monaco calling the action live from the Toyota Center.
