D'Alessandro Nets UHL Honor

RICHMOND, VA-- The Richmond RiverDogs, proud members of the United Hockey League, announce that Mike D'Alessandro has been named Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending Sunday, January 15, 2006. Mike appeared in all three games, as the RiverDogs were victorious over the Port Huron Beacons and a pair against state rival Roanoke Valley Vipers. In those three games, "Dally" allowed a goals against average of 1.33 (Allowed 4 power play goals, zero (0) at even strength) with a save percentage of .957. The native of Peterborough, ONT is currently ranked fifth among UHL goaltenders in saves (765) and in save percentage (.916). This is the second time this season that a RiverDogs player has coveted an UHL league honor as Doug Groenestege received the same award early in December.

The RiverDogs will continue their road swing in Roanoke on Friday and Saturday, January 20th and 21st before returning home to face the Missouri River Otters for the first time this season on Sunday, January 22nd at 4:05 pm. It will also be Fox Post-game Skate with the RiverDogs. Following the RiverDogs-River Otters contest, fans are encouraged to bring their ice skates and skate with the players, get autographs and pictures. Fans who do not have skates can come onto the ice and join in on the fun.

PACK THE POUND NIGHT is scheduled for Saturday, January 28 when the RiverDogs play host to the Motor City Mechanics at 7:35 pm. All Upper Bowl tickets are $6.00 each. The RiverDogs also offer a Businessman's (or Businesswoman's) Special where they can get 20 tickets for $100.00.
