Rennette, D'Alessandro Earn Weekly Honors

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Monday that Kalamazoo Wings center Tyler Rennette has been named Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week and Richmond RiverDogs goaltender Mike D'Alessandro has been named Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending Sunday, January 15, 2006.

Rennette completed the week with six points (3g, 3a) and a plus-4 rating in two games played. On Wednesday, he had both Kalamazoo goals in the 3-2 shootout loss to Rockford. He then had a four-point night (1g, 3a) in Saturday's 5-2 win vs. Motor City. The 26-year-old native of North Bay, Ontario currently ranks third in UHL scoring with 54 points (21g, 33a). His 33 assists rank fourth in the league and his plus-29 rating is tied for second in the UHL. It is the second weekly honor for Rennette this season.

Other players nominated for the Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week include: Danbury forward Ryan Barnes, Elmira left wing Kevin Cooper, Fort Wayne right wing Jonathan Goodwin, Missouri center Lars Pettersen, Motor City forward Peter Szabo, Muskegon left wing Ryan Keller, Quad City center Glenn Detulleo, Richmond center Mike Oliveira, Roanoke left wing Mike Wiggins, and Rockford center Preston Mizzi.

D'Alessandro finished the week with a 3-0-0 record, a 1.33 goals against average (GAA), and a .957 save percentage (SPCT). On Wednesday, he made 22 saves in the 5-1 victory vs. Port Huron. He stopped 25 shots in Friday's 4-2 win vs. Roanoke Valley. The following night he made 43 saves in the 3-1 victory vs. Roanoke Valley. The 24-year-old Peterborough, Ontario native currently ranks fifth among UHL goaltenders in saves (765) and SPCT (.916). D'Alessandro pushed his record to 10-10-1 this season.

Other goaltenders nominated for the Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Week include: Danbury's Sylvain Daigle, Elmira's Nick Boucher, Fort Wayne's Kevin St. Pierre, Kalamazoo's Joel Martin, Missouri's Kevin Reiter, Motor City's Rod Branch, Muskegon's Clayton Pool, Quad City's Jason Tapp, Roanoke's Shawn Conschafter, and Rockford's Michel Robinson.
