
Dale Murphy Appearance at Smokies Park

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. - Former Atlanta Braves great Dale Murphy will be appearing twice at Smokies Park on Thursday, July 23. Murphy will first be a guest speaker at the Smokies' 12:00 p.m. luncheon in his honor at the stadium's Double Play Café restaurant, and then later that evening for "Braves Night" and the Smokies' 7:15 p.m. game against the Mississippi Braves.
Murphy's first appearance on the 23rd will be at a luncheon hosted by the Smokies; the 12:00 p.m. luncheon will be open to the general public and take place inside the stadium's Double Play Café restaurant. Tickets for the luncheon are $25 for adults and $15 for children 12-and-under. Proceeds from the luncheon will go to benefit the United Way of Sevier County.
During the luncheon Murphy will be speaking to the luncheon guests in attendance and signing autographs. A silent auction will also be taking place the event, featuring memorabilia of Atlanta Braves players both past and present.
Leading up to that night's game, the Atlanta Braves' promo crew will be at Smokies Park hosting various fan interactive displays outside the stadium gates. The Braves promo crew also will be awarding special giveaways and Braves prize packs to fans in attendance during the game. Various Braves memorabilia will be on display during the game and fans in attendance can take advantage of a special "Buy 1 Get 1 Free" deal on tickets to any upcoming 2009 Atlanta Braves Sunday thru Thursday home game (excluding New York Yankees & Boston Red Sox games).
Also during the game, Murphy will be signing autographs from 8:00-9:00 p.m. inside the stadium's Double Play Café restaurant.
