Dakota's Romel Beck Named To D-League All-Star Team

BISMARCK, ND, February 10, 2010 - The NBA Development League announced today that Romel Beck of the Dakota Wizards has been named as a replacement to the NBA D-League All-Star Game to be played on Saturday, February 13th as part of NBA All-Star Jam Session presented by adidas. The game will tip off at 2:00pm CT on Jam Session's Center Court and will be shown live on NBA TV. Beck will take the place of Maine Red Claws center Alexis Ajinca, who recently underwent season-ending surgery and will not be able to participate.

Beck is the leading scorer for the Wizards, averaging 19.7 points per game. He has scored in double-figures in 25 of the 26 games in which he has appeared this season. Over his last five games, Beck is averaging 21.6 points on 56.9% shooting from the field and has hit 19 of 20 free throw attempts. He scored a season-high 39 points against the Springfield Armor on January 5th at the D-League Showcase in Boise, Idaho. The 6'8 forward out of UNLV was 15-of-19 from the field in the game, including 5-of-7 from 3-point range. Beck will also be taking part in the Haier Shooting Stars competition as part of the NBA Development League Dream Factory Friday Night on February 12th.
