'Dads Robinson Named SAL Player of the Week

HICKORY, NC - The South Atlantic League announced on Monday that Hickory Crawdads 3B Drew Robinson has been named SAL Player of the Week for the week of June 4 - 10 . It marks the second time this season that a Crawdad has won the weekly award, as 2B Rougned Odor was named Player of the Week for May 21-27.
Robinson, 20, helped pace the 'Dads to a 4-3 record on the week by clubbing .440 (11-for-25) with one home run and five RBIs in the seven games. The Las Vegas, Nevada native added three doubles, one triple and nine runs scored. He also worked seven walks and compiled a .563 on-base percentage. One of Robinson's doubles led off the bottom of the ninth inning against the Greenville Drive on Sunday, before he then raced home to score the game-winning run on an RBI single by LF Jeremy Williams.
On the season, Robinson is hitting .291 with six homers and 36 RBIs through 54 games. He leads the team and is tied for fifth in the league with 39 walks, and is also fourth in the SAL with a .422 on-base percentage. Robinson has belted 12 doubles and two triples, and has stolen seven bases on the year. He was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 4th round of the 2010 June Draft out of high school.
