
D-Fenders Hold off Bighorns at Home

EL SEGUNDO - The D-Fenders defeated the Reno Bighorns 113-111 tonight in El Segundo, CA.
Manny Harris (25 points, nine rebounds), Vander Blue (21 points, five rebounds) and Malcolm Thomas (20 points, 10 rebounds) all reached the 20-point mark for Los Angeles (4-1). Anthony Brown scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds while on assignment from the Lakers. Josh Magette finished with a double-double (14 points, 10 assists) for the D-Fenders.
Vincent Hunter (32 points, 24 rebounds), Ricky Ledo (26 points) and Erick Green (23 points) paced the Bighorns (1-2). Reggie Hearn also reached double-figures with 17 points.
Los Angeles came out firing, shooting .626 from the field and .600 from three-point range in the first quarter to take a 43-30 lead into the second. Harris hit 4-of-5 three's for Los Angeles, tallying 12 points in the quarter, while Hunter had 14 for Reno. The second quarter was a complete turnaround for the D-Fenders, who shot .381from the field, getting outscored 31-21 for the quarter. Brown had 11 points in the second for Los Angeles, who led 64-61 heading into the halftime break.
The second half was back-and-forth, as neither team was able to make a run. The D-Fenders tallied 28 points in the third quarter behind 15 points from Blue, while the Bighorns finished with 26 on the quarter. Los Angeles took a 92-87 lead into the final frame. Reno scored 24 points in the fourth quarter, compared to 21 for Los Angeles. The Bighorns needed one more bucket to fall to keep this one alive, but came up short to the D-Fenders 113-111.
The D-Fenders shot .494 from the field, compared to .457 for the Bighorns. Los Angeles connected on 19-of-38 three-point attempts (.500), while Reno connected on 11-of-40 (.275). The D-Fenders dished out 25 assists, compared to 19 for the Bighorns.
Los Angeles heads to Oklahoma City to face the Blue on Tuesday, November 24th at 5:00pm PT.
