DES MONIES, Iowa - Kelsey Barlow took a wide open 3-pointer from the left corner, but it fell just short as time expired.
The Grand Rapids Drive fell to the Iowa Energy 85-83 on Saturday night at the Wells Fargo Arena in a wild back-and-fourth game.
Devin Ebanks scored 20 points to lead the Drive, which had four players score in double figures. Ryan Boatright had 18 followed by Lorenzo Brown (14) and Henry Sims (11).
Grand Rapids falls to 1-2 and the Energy improves to 3-0.
Grand Rapids, which was up by as many as 14 points in the game, trailed by five with 50 seconds to go. Boatright drained a 3-pointer to cut the lead to two. Iowa had a chance to put the game away at the free-throw line, but Lazeric Jones miss both shots giving the Drive a final shot with 13 seconds to go. But Barlow ' s shot fell short.
The Drive trailed 38-28 midway through the second quarter, but they went on a stunning 23-2 run to end the half with a 53-43 lead.
Iowa had six players score in double figures, led by Lazeric Jones ' 15 points. He was followed by Joel Wright (14), Cartier Martin (14), Terry Whisnant (11), Alex Stephenson (10) and Andrew Harrison (10).
Grand Rapids returns home for the first time since opening night when it takes on the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Iowa hosts Fort Wayne Mad Ants on Sunday at 5 p.m.
