D.C. United To Host United Celebrity Golf Tournament

Washington, D.C. (April 14, 2010) - United for D.C., the non-profit arm of D.C. United, announced today details of the Ninth Annual United Celebrity Golf Tournament, presented by Geico. Golfers will gather at the 1757 Golf Club in Dulles, Virginia for a 1:30 p.m. ET shotgun start on Monday, June 28. Participants in this year's event will play alongside current and former United players and coaches as well as a host of other local sports and media celebrities, all while raising money for United for D.C. Those interested in playing may sign up at www.dcunited.com/golf .

Companies and other organizations have the opportunity to join forces with United for D.C. as a sponsor of this event. Sponsorship opportunities include: presenting sponsor at $6,000, all-hole sponsor at $4,000, and one-hole sponsor $2,000. To play in the tournament, the cost is $1,000 for a foursome with a celebrity, $750 per playing foursome, and $250 for an individual. The tournament is limited to 36 foursomes. All pricing includes lunch and dinner, beverages, green fees, cart usage, and prizes.

Proceeds from the event will benefit United for D.C.'s signature programs including supporting free after-school soccer programming, promoting literacy and healthy lifestyles, and giving kids the opportunity to experience a professional soccer game.
