D.C. United Sign Defender Conner Antley from the Tampa Bay Rowdies

WASHINGTON, D.C. - D.C. United have signed defender Conner Antley from the Tampa Bay Rowdies in the United Soccer League (USL) Championship. Antley has signed a two-year deal through 2025 with an option in 2026.
"Conner has been a consistent and dependable defender in the USL Championship over the last few seasons," Ally Mackay, D.C. United General Manager and Chief Soccer Officer, said. "He's a versatile defender who can play a variety of positions in the backline while also having the ability to go forward and join the attack. He will be a great addition to the roster and help reinforce our defensive depth heading into the 2024 season."
Antley joins the Black-and-Red after spending the 2023 season with the Tampa Bay Rowdies in the USL Championship. He appeared in 35 matches for Tampa Bay, including two Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup matches and one USL Championship playoff match. He ended the season with three assists and was fourth on the team with 25 created chances. Antley signed with the Tampa Bay Rowdies on Dec. 29, 2020 from USL Championship side Indy Eleven. He made his debut for the club on May 1, 2021 in a 3-0 win over the Charlotte Independence. Antley would record his first assist for the Rowdies the following month on June 11, 2021 in a 2-1 league win over Loudoun United. The defender helped Tampa Bay win the 2021 USL Championship Regular Season title after making 31 appearances and recording six assists; tied for most assists on the team. Over three seasons, Antley recorded 14 assists in 102 matches across all competitions for the Tampa Bay Rowdies.
The Atlanta native started his professional career with South Georgia Tormenta FC of the USL League One. Antley signed with Tormenta FC on May 1, 2018 and spent one season with the club. He scored his first professional goal on April 20, 2019 in a 3-2 league loss to the Chattanooga Red Wolves which was the start of a three-game scoring streak for the defender. Antley would then record his first professional assist on July 6, 2019 in a 2-1 league loss to Forward Madison FC. In total, the defender appeared in 28 matches, leading the team with seven assists and ranked second in goals with six. The following season, Antley signed with Indy Eleven of the USL Championship. The defender would spend the entire 2020 season with Indy Eleven where he appeared in 12 matches and created seven chances before signing with the Tampa Bay Rowdies at the end of the season.
Antley played four years of collegiate soccer for Mercer University in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). In four seasons, Antley played in 66 matches (63 starts), scoring 11 goals and recording nine assists with two All-Southern Conference First Team selections.
