Timbers Unveil 2024 Nature Unites Kit
February 14, 2024 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Portland Timbers News Release
PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers today unveiled their 2024 Nature Unites community kit. The team will debut the jersey in their match against D.C. United at Providence Park on March 2nd at 7:30 p.m. (Pacific).
Marking the club's 17th kit since joining MLS in 2011, the Nature Unites jersey is wrapped in a hand-drawn leaf pattern, inspired by native trees of Oregon. Shadow green trim around the cuff, neck and sides connects this jersey to the club's Portland Plaid kit, with the logos, name and number displayed on a natural, halo ivory chassis.
The front of jersey features new kit sponsor DaBella and a centered crest for the first time in team history. DaBella, the "Official Home Improvement Partner of the Portland Timbers", will be featured prominently on the Timbers' home, away and specialty game kits and club apparel this season, marking the club's first new kit sponsor since their inaugural 2011 season.
The kit also highlights community partner and global nonprofit The Nature Conservancy (TNC) with their logo printed on the back of the neck, while the inside of the collar on authentic jerseys lives the phrase "Nature Unites Us", serving as a reminder and a celebration of the connection we can find with one another in nature.
"The Nature Unites kit represents the natural beauty of Oregon and the club's dedication to the environment, two things we are very proud of," said Heather Davis, CEO of the Timbers. "We are excited to bring awareness to The Nature Conservancy's mission with this design and to work alongside them on a series of environmental initiatives throughout the season."
Throughout the season, the Timbers and TNC will work together to educate, activate and raise awareness around The Nature Conservancy's areas of focus - nature conservation, addressing climate change, and biodiversity loss - as well as encourage communities statewide to actively explore, experience and protect the outdoors. "The Nature Conservancy is excited to have the backs of Portland Timbers players and fans with this season's conservation-themed community kit," said Derek Johnson, Oregon State Director at The Nature Conservancy. "This kit proudly showcases the beauty of Oregon's iconic trees and inspires us all to team up to protect our forests from the urgent and interconnected challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, wildfire and drought."
Crafted from recyclable materials, the community jersey features adidas' HEAT.RDY technology - breathable, moisture-wicking and 3D engineered fabric. The shirt offers newly reimagined, engineered cooling areas to optimize comfort and performance.
Authentic and replica versions of the Nature Unites kit, with women's and youth sizes available will be sold online HEREstarting Wednesday, February 14 at 9 a.m. (Pacific). The PTFC Authentics team store located at Providence Park will carry authentic kits at the time of the launch, with women and youth sizes available for preorder at PTFCAuthentics.com.
