
D.C. United Breaks Season Ticket Sales Record

CHANTILLY, VA (May 5, 2003) - D.C. United announced today that the club's season ticket sales for the 2003 season have surpassed the all-time record mark of 7,046, established in 2001. United has now sold 7,055 season tickets. The mark currently leads Major League Soccer and marks the sixth time in seven years that D.C. United has shown growth in its season ticket base since the inception of the league in 1996. The league tabulates season ticket numbers until June 1, 2003.
"We are extremely pleased with the avid following of our growing fan base as well as our sales staffs' efforts to grow our season ticket pool," said United Senior Vice President and General Manager Stephen Zack. "On behalf of the organization, I'd like to thank our fans and corporate partners alike for their support of D.C. United. I whole-heartedly believe that we have the best fans in Major League Soccer.

Tickets for a single match vary from $16 for a ticket in the Spectator section to $36 for Mezzanine level seating.
D.C. United is back in action this weekend, when the club renews its Atlantic Cup rivalry with the MetroStars. United will make its next home appearance on May 14th in an international friendly against Tottenham Hotspur. The two teams will play for the Capital Cup and honor long-time United and U.S. soccer great John Harkes during the evening. Kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
