
D.C. United Announce 2023 Roster Decisions

WASHINGTON, D.C. - D.C. United have today announced the club's decisions on the contract options of several players, putting the current D.C. United roster for next season at 19 contracted players.
Players With Guaranteed Contracts (already under contract) for 2024: Matai Akinmboni, Christian Benteke, Steven Birnbaum, Alex Bono, Cristian Dájome, Chris Durkin, Kristian Fletcher, Jeremy Garay, Jackson Hopkins, Mohanad Jeahze, Mateusz Klich, Tyler Miller, Martín Rodríguez, Pedro Santos, Hayden Sargis, Luis Zamudio
The following players had their contract options exercised for 2024: Russell Canouse, Ted Ku-DiPietro, Ruan
D.C. United have declined the contract options for the following players: Yamil Asad, Eric Davis, José Fajardo, Jacob Greene, Brendan Hines-Ike, Erik Hurtado, Andy Najar, Nigel Robertha, Gaoussou Samaké
The following players were out of contract at the conclusion of the 2023 season and are MLS Free Agents: Donovan Pines, Derrick Williams
The club are in conversations with select players who had their contract option declined or are out of contract, about returning to D.C. United in 2024.
The updated roster, which includes six homegrown players, currently stands at 19 players and is listed alphabetically by position below:
GOALKEEPERS (3): Alex Bono, Tyler Miller, Luis Zamudio
DEFENDERS (6): Matai Akinmboni, Steven Birnbaum, Mohanad Jeahze, Ruan, Pedro Santos, Hayden Sargis
MIDFIELDERS (5): Russell Canouse, Chris Durkin, Jeremy Garay, Jackson Hopkins, Mateusz Klich
FORWARDS (5): Christian Benteke, Cristian Dájome, Kristian Fletcher, Ted Ku-DiPietro, Martín Rodríguez
D.C. United hired Ally Mackay as their new General Manager and Chief Soccer Officer on Nov. 20. The Black-and-Red continue their search for the club's next head coach ahead of the 2024 season.
The club's 2024 MLS Regular Season schedule will be announced once made available by the league.
