Brooklyn Cyclones News Release

Brooklyn, NY -- Trailing 3-0 for most of the game, the Brooklyn Cyclones (22-15) charged back with eight runs in the eighth inning to win the game, 8-3. The win evens the series against the Hudson Valley Renegades (17-19) at one apiece.

The late-inning rally started innocently enough, when Drew Butera flied out to Renegade left fielder David Cardona, but Cardona made a throwing error on the relay to the plate which allowed Josh Petersen to score the first run. Yury Santana then singled to right to score two, and tie the game at 3-3, with a raucous crowd of 7,834 roaring to their feet. Kyle Brown kep t the inning going and snapped the tie when he laced an RBI double down the left field line. The Cyclones added another two when Jonel Pacheco reached base on Hudson Valley's third error of the inning. Jesus Gamero singled and Josh Petersen doubled, each scored another run, to finish the offensive onslaught.

After a rough first inning, Kevin Tomasiewicz settled down and the Brooklyn staff controlled the game. Kevin pitched 4.2 innings, giving up three runs, on five hits, while walking three and striking out five. Sal Aguilar and Travis Hope combined to shut out the Renegades after the rough first inning. Hope got the win to improve to 3-0.

Kyle Brown was 2-for-4 with an RBI double that gave Brooklyn the lead for good. Joe Holden continued his hot hitting, going 3-for-5 with a run scored and two stolen bases. Yury Santana seems to have found his streak, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored.

The Cyclones will lock up with the Renegades tomorrow at 6pm in the rubber match of the series. Great seats are still available for the game. You can get tickets by calling (718)-507-TIXX, going to BrooklynCyclones.com or coming down to the KeySpan Park box office at 1904 Surf Avenue.
