The Cutters won 3-2 in 13 innings Friday night when Staten Island Yankees pitcher RHP Steve Schroer (2-1) committed a throwing error that allowed 1B Steven Pearce to score.
The Cutters are again tied for 1st place with the Yankees in the McNamara Division. 1B Steven Pearce hit a solo home run for the Cutters in the 8th inning. Pearce ended the game by going 1 for 5 with the home run. SS Brent Lillibridge went 2 for 6 with two doubles and RHP Todd Redmond (1-0) went 7.0 innings, giving up 6 hits, 1 earned run, and struck out 2 to give the Cutters a solid outing. The Cutters bullpen pitched 6.0 innings, giving up 6 hits, 1 earned run, and struck out 2.
The Cutters will look to take the rubber match Saturday night at Bowman Field.
