COMING UP: The Cincinnati Cyclones (8-8-0-1) have three games this week against opponents from the North Division. Wednesday (Dec. 6--6:35pm) and Friday (Dec. 8--7:05pm), the Cyclones are at Reading, while Saturday (Dec. 9--7:05pm), they are at Dayton.

FIVE IN A ROW?: The Cyclones go after their fifth game in a row without a regulation time loss, Wednesday (Dec. 6) at Reading. The Cyclones have collected seven points in the standings (out of a possible eight) over the previous four games.

ABOVE .500: The Cyclones enter the week with an 8-8-0-1 record. The last time Cincinnati was above .500 was back on Nov 4, when the squad held a 4-3 record. The Cyclones sat at 4-7 after a loss to Dayton on Nov. 16. Since then, the club has responded with a 4-1-0-1 mark in those six games and is in fifth place in the North Division with an 8-8-0-1 record.

500 FOR FTOREK: Wednesday night (Dec. 6) will be the 500th professional game for Cyclones forward Sam Ftorek. The seventh-year pro from Wolfeboro, NH has appeared in 499 games, with 123 goals, 168 assists for 291 points and 701 penalty minutes during that time.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRIAN!: Thursday (Dec. 7), rookie defenseman Brian Mullally celebrates his 25th birthday.

ABOUT THE OTHER NIGHT...: The Cyclones dropped a 3-2 shootout loss to Dayton on Saturday night. The Cyclones raced out to a 2-0 lead early in the second period on goals by Jason Deitsch and Torry Gajda, but the Bombers would tally a pair of middle frame goals to end scoring in regulation time. Following a scoreless overtime, the Bombers were able to score twice in the shootout to take the triumph.

ABOUT FRIDAY NIGHT: The Cyclones claimed a 5-2 victory over Wheeling Friday night (Dec. 1) at U.S. Bank Arena. Jean-Michel Daoust, Torry Gajda and Rory Rawlyk each recorded three points in the win. Cincinnati collected a season-high three power play goals and goaltender Cedrick Desjardins turned aside 28 shots in taking the victory.

DAOUST TO THE RESCUE: Cyclones forward Jean-Michel Daoust netted a pair of goals Friday night (Dec. 1) in the 5-2 win over Wheeling. It was the second-year pro's second two goal game of the season (Nov. 1 v. Florida). Daoust is tied for second on the club in scoring with 15 points. He has had three multi-point games this season and is currently riding a four-game point scoring streak (2-4-6).

EXTRA SPECIAL TEAMS: The Cyclones cashed in on four special teams goals Friday night (Dec. 1)--a season-high three on the power play. Jean-Michel Daoust collected two man-advantage goals and Rory Rawlyk added the other power play marker, while Cory Urquhart tallied the shorthanded goal. Cincinnati has connected on five of its last 16 power play chances 31.2 percent) since last Saturday at Dayton (Nov. 25). The Cyclones have collected four shorthanded goals, seventh-most in the ECHL and third-most in the American Conference.

WELCOME MATHIEU AUBIN: The Cyclones received forward Mathieu Aubin from the Hamilton Bulldogs (AHL) last Tuesday (Nov. 28), he becomes the fifth player under NHL contract from the Montreal Canadiens to join the squad (Jimmy Bonneau, Cedrick Desjardins, Greg Stewart and Cory Urquhart are the others). The rookie from Sorel, Quebec appeared in seven games with Hamilton and had two goals and two assists during that time.

LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON: With the addition of Mathieu Aubin, the Cyclones have two sets of fathers and sons who have skated at U.S. Bank Arena. By now, Cincinnatians know that Sam Ftorek's father, Robbie, skated with the Cincinnati Stingers (WHA) during the 1970's. Mathieu Aubin's father, Normand (who most notably played for the Toronto Maple Leafs), skated for the Cincinnati Tigers (CHL) during the 1981-82 season.

CYCLONES SIGN ALL-STAR RORY RAWLYK: The Cyclones announced Friday (Dec. 1) that they signed defenseman Rory Rawlyk for the remainder of the season. Rawlyk spent last season with Charlotte (ECHL), netting nine goals and 31 assists for 40 points in 70 games. He also started on defense for the American Conference in the 2006 ECHL All-Star Game, collecting a pair of assists in the 7-6 loss to the National Conference. Rawlyk had been playing with Bofors IK in the Swedish Elite League, appearing in 14 games and tallying a pair of goals and a pair of assists for four points and 44 penalty minutes. In his debut game that night, Rawlyk score the opening goal of the game and added a pair of assists in the win over Wheeling, 5-2.

TOUGH ROAD TO HOE: The Cyclones are 8-8-0-1 on the season. The eight losses have come to six teams with winning records and those eight teams currently have a composite record of 76-54-2 (.583). Five of those losses have come to teams with winning percentage of greater than .625. Wheeling is the only team with a sub-.500 record with wins against Cincinnati.

GOODBYE TO BORRELLI AND DAY: On Friday (Dec. 1), the Cyclones traded forward Dave Borrelli and defenseman Riley Day to Fresno, in exchange for future considerations.

OTHER BIG NIGHTS COMING TO U.S. BANK ARENA: Some other noteworthy nights coming up on the Cyclones schedule include: Friday, Dec. 15 vs. Johnstown is 'Big Ben Helmet Safety Night'; Friday, Jan. 5 is Rich Franklin Night, with the UFC champion appearing; Saturday, Jan. 6 is NASCAR Night, with driver Denny Hamlin making an appearance and Friday, Dec. 12 is NHL Affiliate Night, when the team wears Montreal Canadiens jerseys.
