Cyclones to honor Negro League on Saturday

WHO: Former Negro League players Jim Robinson and Armando Vazquez Brooklyn Cyclones players wearing Brooklyn Royal Giants jerseys

WHAT: The Brooklyn Cyclones are hosting a Negro League Tribute on Saturday, August 7th. The Cyclones want to honor the Negro League players who never truly received the national recognition for being the great athletes they were. There will be an on field ceremony to pay tribute to former Negro League players, Jim Robinson and Armando Vazquez. On field, the Cyclones players will be wearing Brooklyn Royal Giants jerseys which will be auctioned off throughout the game. Proceeds from the silent auction will go to the New York-Penn League Charitable Foundation. Jim and Armando will throw out the ceremonial first pitches.

WHEN: Saturday, August 7, 2004 Ceremonies begin at 5:15 PM Negro League players will throw out ceremonial pitches at 5:50 PM
