Champ's Brithday Friday
August 5, 2004 - New York-Penn League (NYPL)
Vermont Lake Monsters News Release
BURLINGTON, VT --- The forecast might be for temperatures in the 60's on Friday, but it will be hot at Centennial Field as the Vermont Expos and their fans help Champ celebrate his birthday with a Hawaiian Beach Bash.
1,000 Bottle Jerseys sponsored by Pepsi will be given away, while eight contestants will have a chance to compete in a pre-game promotion for the chance to win $10,000.
As always on Champ's birthday, plenty of his mascot friends will be on hand, including Montreal Expos mascot Youppi and the University of Vermont's Rally.
The team will help promote the Hawaiian Beach theme by wearing Hawaiian style jerseys for 7:05 game against the Williamsport Crosscutters, while there will also be plenty of beach themed activities at the ballpark.
The game is the finale of a three-game homestand for the Expos, who return to Centennial for a five-game homestand August 10-14 with three against against Lowell and two with Oneonta.
