Cards announce playoff push package for season ticket holders

The New Jersey Cardinals and Vice President/General Manager Tony Torre announced that any fan renewing season-tickets for the 2005 season will receive FREE tickets to all 2004 New Jersey Cardinals play-off games at Skylands Park. The Cardinals ask that fans wishing to renew make a $100 deposit on next seasons tickets. To renew, please call the Cardinals at 973-579-7500 or stop by the ticket office at Skylands Park.

We are excited about the heat of a pennant race,commented Torre. The New Jersey Cardinals are playing well at a key point in the schedule.

The Cards have now won 4 straight games, equaling a season-high, and moved within 2 games of a playoff spot. They trail division leading Brooklyn (New York Mets), with whom the Cardinals open a 3-game series on Saturday in Brooklyn, by just 4.5 games and are only 2 games behind wild-card leader Hudson Valley (Tampa Bay Devil Rays). The Cards and Renegades open a 3-game set on Tuesday at 7:15 pm at Skylands Park.

The next two weeks are big ones for the Cards as they play 8 straight games with the teams immediately ahead of them in the New York Penn League standings. They continue a 4-game road trip today and tomorrow at Oneonta and then travel to Brooklyn on Saturday night. Brooklyn then pays a visit to Skylands Park on Sunday at 5:00 pm, and New Jersey then travels back to Brooklyn for the series finale on Monday. On Tuesday the Cards open their series with Hudson Valley and on Friday begin a two-game set with Brooklyn. The Cards play home games on Tuesday, August 10, Thursday, August 12, and Saturday, August 15.

Sunday night the Cards sponsor a poster giveaway, Kids Race Around the Bases and Everything Jersey Night,Tuesday there is a batting helmet giveaway and a post-game party at the Hampton House Bar & Grill, Thursday night is Miller Lite Bat Bonanza sponsored by Miller Lite and The New Jersey Herald, and Saturday is Boy Scout Sleepover night, Thunderstixx Giveaway Night and Family Catch on the Field.
