Hudson Valley Renegades News Release
Fishkill, NY- The Hudson Valley Renegades were defeated last night 7-2 by the Auburn Doubledays in front of a crowd of 3,956. The loss ended the Renegades five game win streak.
The Doubledays jumped out to an early lead again scoring in the first inning for the second straight day. 3B Vincent Esposito drove in CF Aaron Mathews for the first run of the game.
The Renegades bounced back in the bottom of the inning scoring on a DH John Jaso RBI single.
The Renegades and Doubledays both scored in the second and the game remained tied at two until the fourth inning when 2B Brian Hall hit his second solo home run of the night to give the Doubledays the lead for good.
Jose Delacruz (L, 2-3) started the game for the Renegades and got the loss. He pitched 5 innings surrendering seven hits and four runs while striking out four.
Juan Perez (W, 5-1) got the win for the Doubledays pitching five innings, allowing six hits and two runs.
The Renegades and Doubledays play the rubber game of their three game series tomorrow at Dutchess Stadium. Scheduled to pitch for the Renegades is LHP Tim King (5-1, 4.83) and TBD for the Doubledays. First pitch is scheduled for 7:11 PM.
