March 5, 2009 - ECHL (ECHL)
Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The 2008 Kelly Cup champion Cincinnati Cyclones announced today that they have signed defenseman Jason Woll to a contract. The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators.
Woll, 24, is launching his professional career after finishing up his collegiate career at Milwaukee College of Engineering. At MCOE, Jason played in 108 games and netted 14 goals to go with 63 assists for 77 points and 319 penalty minutes. A three-time Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association All-Academic selection, he was also selected to the MCHA All-Tournament team in 2006-07. Woll also twice in his career earned MCHA âDefensive Player of the Week' honors. In addition, he was a four-time member of the league's All-Conference team at seasons end-only the third player in MCHA history to achieve this.
The six-foot-two, 210 pounder from Portland, OR played 29 games this season for MCOE and collected a pair of goals, dished off 21 assists for 23 points and had 45 penalty minutes. He was selected to the Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association's All-Tournament team, having helped the Raiders advance to the Harris Cup's championship game. There, MCOE was defeated in the championship game by Adrian College.
Woll practiced with the team this morning and are expected in the lineup for this weekend's (March 6-7) games at Reading. Both games will be aired on MAX-FM (97.7 and 99.5) beginning each night at 6:45pm.
