BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The ECHL announced today that Condors LW Mark Derlago was named the CCM ECHL Player of the Month for February. His anointment follows three consecutive Player of the Week honors from the league for Derlago's teammates, RW Mike Wirll (twice) and RW Chad Painchaud.

Derlago, 23, led the league in scoring during February, racking up 26 points in 14 games. He was second in the league with 16 assists during that stretch and has climbed into the top 10 in scoring overall. His 58 points is tied for 10th in the ECHL, despite only appearing in 37 games. His month included seven multiple point games, with two five-point games. He had a hat trick on Feb. 22 against Victoria for his second of the season and fifth of his professional career. Derlago collected his 100th career point as a Condor, in his 100th career Condors game, on Feb. 21.

The league honor caps off a stretch for the Condors that has seen them climb back into the playoff race in the National Conference, racking up a league-best 11-2-1 record in their last 14 games. Derlago's hot hand has extended into early March as well, with five points (3g-2a) in the first two games this month, and he has six multiple point games in his last seven contests.

The Brandon, Manitoba, native is in his second professional season, and is under contract to the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League. He ranks fourth on the club in points and second in goals, with 25. Last season, Derlago led all first year players in the ECHL in goals and established new Condors rookie records for goals and points, although his record point total has been surpassed this season by F Matt Pope. He appeared in 21 games with the Moose this season, recording nine points (4g-5a).

Fukufuji named runner-up for Saver of the Month: Condors G Yutaka Fukufuji has also been named runner-up for the RBC Financial Group ECHL Saver of the Month, after posting a 7-3-0 record with a 3.58 goals against average and a .900 save percentage.
