Cyclones Receive Mark Van Guilder From Milwaukee

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and Nashville Predators, announced this afternoon they have received forward Mark Van Guilder from the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL).

Van Guilder, 25, is in his second professional season, having appeared in 13 games with Milwaukee this year. He has collected two assists with the Admirals. Last season, Mark appeared in 65 games with the Cyclones, leading the team with 26 goals and 44 assists for 70 points. Three of his goals were overtime scores. He also played in eight games with AHL clubs and collected an assist.

The six-foot-two, 205 pound native of Roseville, MN, played four seasons at Notre Dame, earning four varsity letters and racking up 42 goals and 56 assists for 98 points in 163 games. Van Guilder and current Cyclone Brock Sheahan played for a Fighting Irish squad that advanced to the National Championship game in 2007-08.

In other Cyclones news, forward Mark O'Leary was activated from the injured reserve list and placed on waivers. Forward Chris Morehouse has been place on the three day injured reserve list.

The Cyclones host East Division leader Reading tonight (December 12) for the ‘Wildman Wobler' giveaway. That game is slated for a 7:30pm start. The teams meet again on Sunday afternoon (December 13) at 2:30pm.

The Cyclones have selected Friday night games carried on 1530 Homer - The Sports Animal and all contests aired on their website at www.cycloneshockey.com. The next game carried on 1530 will be Friday, January 8 at 7:35pm from Wheeling.
