TODAY'S MATCHUP: After splitting a pair of games in Greenville this past weekend, the Cyclones open a stretch of three games in four days, beginning this morning against the South Carolina Stingrays for the 2012 Education In Hockey Day. The Cyclones are 3-0-1 in Education in Hockey Day games since 2006. The Clones have had great success over the "˜Rays over the years; over the past six seasons, Cincinnati has compiled a 17-7-3-0 record againt South Carolina, with a stellar 9-3-1 mark at 100 Broadway.

TODAY'S PROMOTION: 2012 Education in Hockey Day - For the fifth time since 2006, the Cyclones welcome in students from around the Tri-State to mesh hockey and learning in this special educational event!

SCOUTING THE STINGRAYS: Spencer Carbery's team has struggled of late, dropping seven of their last ten games. While they did pick up a victory in Toledo on Sunday, the Stingrays currently rank fourth in the five-team South Division with a record of 6-8-0-1. They are led offensively by rookie defenseman Tommy Cross, who has posted 14 points (4 goals, 10 assists) in his first 15 pro games. His totals are tied for the best among all ECHL first-year players and defenseman while tying him for eighth in league scoring overall. Between the pipes, rookie Shawn Hunwick has seen action in four of the "˜Rays last six contests. The University of Michigan product has earned a 4-3-0 record with a 2.69 goals-against average. ECHL-nomad Ryan Zapolski has also played for South Carolina this season, posting a 2-0-0 mark and a 2.00 goals-against average after coming over from the Gwinnett Gladiators. Overall, Zapolski is 3-1-0 with a 1.77 GAA.

Home Sweet Home: After getting off to its best start in club history, it's no surprise that Cincinnati has been a solid home team this year. They are 4-0 this year at U.S. Bank Arena and have out-scored their opponents 14-9 in those games.

Power Outage: The Clones penalty-kill unit has been deadly when skating at U.S. Bank Arena this season. They have the fifth-best home PK unit in the ECHL - extinguishing 90.9% of their opponents chances. Overall, Cincinnati has killed off 39 of the 48 power plays against.

Closing in on 100: Cyclones defenseman Brian O'Hanley is inching closer to a personal milestone. The fifth-year pro is just 9 points away from notching 100 in his career. "O-H" has amassed 73 points (16 goals, 57 assists) in 183 games with the Cyclones.
