TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: Tonight the Cyclones kick off a critical stretch of North Division battles as they welcome the Kalamazoo Wings to U.S. Bank Arena. It will be the opener of a three-game week pitting the Clones against the top two teams in the division, both K-Zoo and Chicago. Jarrod Skalde's team picked up an impressive 5-2 win the last time they met the Wings, however, they still trail in the season series 1-2-0. Since 2006, Cincinnati has dominated Kalamazoo at 100 Broadway, posting an 11-4-1 record. The Clones are 6-3-0-1 in their last 10 games overall.
TONIGHT'S PROMOTION: Big Beer Tuesday - Fans 21+ can enjoy $2 24-ounce Molson and Labatt Blue!
SCOUTING THE WINGS: Nick Bootland's club sports the second-best offense in the Eastern Conference and third-best in the ECHL with 83 goals scored. Unbeaten in regulation over their last three games (2-0-0-1), the Wings have jumped into the top spot in the North Division standings with a record of 14-7-0-2. Forward Brandon Svendsen remains Kalamazoo's biggest scoring threat, ranking fourth in the league with 27 points (10 goals, 17 assists) and leads the ECHL with five game-winning goals. Along with Svendsen, Kory Karlander has scored four points against the Cyclones in the three meetings.
About Saturday Night vs Toledo: Mathieu Aubin extended his point-scoring streak to five games with a goal and an assist while Joe Devin picked up the game-winning tally as the Cyclones defeated the Walleye by a 3-2 final score in front of 7,723 at U.S. Bank Arena.
O' Captain, My Captain: Earlier today, Head Coach Jarrod Skalde bestowed the title of "Team Captain" on forward Mathieu Aubin. Now in his fifth-tour of duty with the Clones, Aubin ranks in the top-four on most franchise all-time leaderboards. He is 2nd all time in assists (96), 3rd in goals (69) and points (166) and 4th in games played (178).
The New Guy: Earlier today, the Cyclones were sent rookie defenseman Taylor Aronson from the Milwaukee Admirals. The 19-year-old Placentia, California native earned 67 points in 142 games over the last two seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Portland Winterhawks.
Multi-Point Magic: While all but one Cyclone has registered at least a point this season, a good chunk of the roster have collected multi-point games. In fact, 11 different Cincy players have had such a game. Mathieu Aubin leads the team with five, Anthony Luciani has four, while Daniel Koger and Mike Pelech each have three apiece.
