
Colorado's Costello Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Chad Costello of the Colorado Eagles is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Dec. 5-11.
The 25-year-old forward scored three goals, added two assists and was a +7 as Colorado went 2-0-1 in three games against Mountain Division rival Idaho.
Costello opened the week with an assist in the Eagles 4-2 win on Wednesday. On Friday, he scored two goals and added another assist in a 5-4 shootout loss, and he ended the week with a goal in a 5-1 Colorado victory on Saturday. He is currently on a 13-game point streak (8g-15a), the longest in the ECHL this season.
A native of Johnston, Iowa, Costello has 12 goals and 24 assists for 36 points, which is second in the league. His 24 assists lead the ECHL, while he is fourth with 105 shots on goal.
Costello began his professional career in the ECHL, appearing in two games with Texas during the 2007-08 season. He spent one season in the IHL, recording 46 points (17g-29a) in 65 games with Muskegon, and spent two seasons in the CHL with Corpus Christi and Tulsa, recording 139 points (47g-92a) in 111 games. He also has appeared in eight AHL games with Lake Erie, tallying one assist.
On behalf of Chad Costello, a case of pucks will be donated to a Colorado youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 25,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
