TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: Tonight, Cincinnati looks to set the ECHL season-high for consecutive home wins as they bid for their sixth straight "W" at U.S. Bank Arena against the Evansville Icemen. It is the first of 13 regular season meetings between these two North Division rivals...the most match-ups of any Cyclones opponent this season. Cincinnati has earned a 2-0-1 record during division play this year with all three games being decided by a single goal.
TODAY'S PROMOTION: Thirsty Thursday / Country Night - Fans 21+ can enjoy $1 PBR and Miller High Life...plus, it will be a country-themed night, with a cash prize going to the fan wearing the best country outfit!
SCOUTING THE ICEMEN: It has been a rough start for Rich Kromm's club this year, as they have earned just three wins in their first 13 games. The Icemen have been out-scored by a combined total of 48-30 this season and rank second-to-last in average goals-scored per game (2.31). Veteran forwards Todd Robinson and Jean Beaulieu are atop Evansville's scoring leaderboard with 11 points and 9 points respectively - both of whom were members of the Icemen last season in the Central Hockey League. Former Cyclone Nathan Moon has also been an offensive contributor, posting seven points (3 goals, 4 assists) in his six games with his new team. Between the pipes, Evansville has used the services of two different rookie netminders. Former Chicago Express goalie Rob Madore has posted a 2-5-0 record this season with a 2.63 goals-against average while Paul Karpowich has gone 1-4-0-1 in six appearances with a 4.07 GAA.
Jumping Out Early: The Clones have scored the first goal of the game in eight of their eleven games played this year - which is tied for third most in the ECHL. They are 6-1-1 when lighting the lamp first and have done so in five consecutive games.
Multi-Point Madness: The Cyclones have had 12 different players notch multi-point games this season. In fact, the Clones have had a player earn a multi-point effort in all but three games this season. Mike Pelech and Francois Bouchard are the leaders in this category - with two such games this season.
