CYCLONES BOBBLEHEAD NIGHT
Tonight's Matchup: Tonight the Cyclones play their third game in as-many nights in hopes of a repeat performance from Tuesday, as they battle the Orlando Solar Bears at the Amway Center. The Clones picked up a 3-0 victory over their Sunshine State foes earlier this week and hope to pull even in the season series as this lengthy southern road trip continues.
Scouting the Solar Bears: After Tuesday's loss to Cincy, Vince Williams' club has dropped eight of its last ten games and currently sit seven points out of a playoff spot with 19 games remaining. Forward Jacob Cepis, who was held to just one shot on Tuesday, remains atop the Solar Bears' scoring list with 47 points (12g, 35a) in 42 games. Denver Manderson is close on his heels, point-wise, with 44 tallies (16g, 28a) in 45 contests. Garret Sparks has been their leading man in net, amassing a 13-6-2-0 with an ECHL 4th-best 2.47 goals-against average. Maxime Clermont, who made 27 saves in the defeat against Cincy, is now 6-5-0-1 with a 3.43 GAA.
Last Time Out: A pair of second period goals proved to be the difference as the Everblades got past the Cyclones by a 2-0 final score in front of 4,446 at Germain Arena last night. Rob Madore played strongly again, despite the defeat, making 28 saves.
Record for Reed: Cyclones defenseman Chris Reed continues to enjoy a career season on offense. The fourth-year pro has posted seven goals and seven assists this year, on pace to smash his previous point plateau of 18. On Tuesday night, he skated in his 200th game with the Cyclones and now sits nine games shy of fifth on the club's all-time list.
Squeaky Clean: The 2014-15 Clones are on pace to be one of the least-penalized teams in club history. They own the fifth-fewest average penalty minutes per game of any ECHL team this year and are on pace to post their second-fewest PIMS since returning to league play in 2006.
