Brooklyn Cyclones News Release
Brooklyn, NY - The Cyclones dropped their fifth straight game, falling to the Aberdeen IronBirds by the score of 6-1 on Thursday evening at Maimonides Park. Brooklyn went 1-for-12 with runners in scoring position and left 10 men on base as their offensive struggles continued.
The Cyclones jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after JT Schwartz had a two-out single in the bottom of the first and Brandon McIlwain followed with a triple, his first of two three-baggers on the night, to plate Brooklyn's lone run of the game.
RHP Junior Santos (2-5) was solid on the mound for Brooklyn, allowing just two runs on six hits over 6.0 innings while striking out five, but Aberdeen tacked on three runs in the seventh against Nolan Clenney and one more in the ninth off of Reyson Santos to make the final score 6-1.
