Brooklyn Cyclones News Release
CONEY ISLAND, BROOKLYN, N.Y. - In conjunction with the New York Mets, the Brooklyn Cyclones announced their 2026 Opening Day roster on Thursday. Among this initial list of 30 players for the franchise's 25th anniversary season are three of the Mets' Top 30 prospects.
The roster is headlined by 2025 Mets' first-round selection INF Mitch Voit (MLB Pipeline No. 7, Baseball America No. 8, SNY No. 10), third-round pick INF Antonio Jimenez (MLB Pipeline No. 16, Baseball America No. 19, SNY No. 20), and C Daiverson Gutiérrez (MLB Pipeline No. 25, Baseball America No. 23, SNY No. 27).
Brooklyn's initial group also includes 20 returning players from last year's South Atlantic League championship squad, in addition to nine newcomers.
The Cyclones will welcome back 11 pitchers to their 2026 staff, including RHPs Noah Hall and Joel Díaz, who finished second (2.47) and sixth (3.80) in the SAL in ERA, respectively, last season. Also returning to Brooklyn's pitching corps is RHP Dakota Hawkins, who closed out Game 2 of the SAL North Division Series vs. Greensboro and earned the win in the clinching Game 2 of the SAL Championship Series at Hub City. RHP Hoss Brewer is back after recording the final outs of the Cyclones' First Half North Division title at Aberdeen and the SAL Championship Series winner. In addition to Prospect Lefferts Gardens native RHP Channing Austin, RHP Juan Arnaud, RHP Brett Banks, RHP Irving Cota, RHP Cristofer Gómez, RHP Hunter Hodges, and LHP Gregori Louis also make their return to Coney Island. Seven newcomers have also joined the staff, including: RHP Parker Carlson, RHP Danís Correa, RHP Wyatt Hudepohl, RHP Bryce Jenkins, RHP Jonathan Jiménez, RHP Garrett Stratton, and RHP Tanner Witt.
At 20 years old, Gutiérrez will be the youngest player on Brooklyn's roster and help lead the team behind the plate. The fourth-year pro will make his Coney Island debut after hitting .242/.362/.309 with four home runs and 41 RBI in 91 games at Single-A St. Lucie in 2025. Joining Gutiérrez will be returnees C Ronald Hernandez, who became the first player in franchise history to hit multiple walk-off home runs in a single season during the 2025 campaign, and C Vincent Perozo.
Jimenez and Voit, the Mets' top two draft selections in 2025, headline the Cyclones' infield. Voit, the 32nd overall pick out of the University of Michigan, served as a two-way player in college and slashed .235/.343/.294 with a home run, eight runs batted in, and 20 stolen bases in 22 games with St. Lucie after the draft. Jimenez, the team's third-round pick out of UCF, will also make his Brooklyn debut after tallying a .263/.345/.274 line with 14 RBI in 26 games at Single-A last summer.
Joining the duo will be a trio of familiar faces, and members of last year's championship squad: INF Corey Collins, 2023 Mets' first-round pick INF Colin Houck, and 2025 Florida State League Post-Season All-Star INF Trace Willhoite.
OF Yonatan Henríquez will spearhead a group of four returning outfielders in 2026. The 21-year-old was tremendous for the Cyclones during the 2025 SAL Postseason, tallying a franchise postseason record six RBI in Game 1 of the Championship Series vs. Hub City. Joining him will be OF John Bay, who caught the final out of last year's clinching game at Hub City, Bronx native OF Yohairo Cuevas, and OF Diego Mosquera.
The Cyclones will open their 25th anniversary and 2026 season on Friday, April 3, at Maimonides Park on Coney Island, when they face off against the Hudson Valley Renegades, the High-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, with first pitch set for 6:40 p.m. The contest will mark the team's first Fri-YAY Drink Deal of the campaign, and fans are advised to stick around after the final out for a Postgame Fireworks display.
