Cyclones Beat Devils in Overtime, 3-2

TRENTON, N.J. (November 30, 2008) -- The Trenton Devils lost a two-goal, third period lead and the game in overtime as the Cincinnati Cyclones scored three unanswered tallies to defeat the Devils, 3-2, at Sovereign Bank Arena on Sunday afternoon.

Mark Van Guilder capped off the Cincinnati comeback with a wrist shot from the slot that beat Jason Smith 64 seconds into the overtime period.

Dan Eves put the Devils on the board 13:53 into the first period after Tyler Burton forced a turnover and dropped a pass in the circle to Eves, who slapped in his first professional goal.

After a scoreless second period, Trevor Kell gave the Devils a two-goal lead with a shorthanded goal on a two-on-one with Jim Henkel at 6:01 of the third period.

The Cyclones refused to quit, and they got on the board at 8:09 with a goal off the stick of Olivier Latendresse. They tied the game at 14:18 when Barrett Ehgoetz deflected a Conrad Martin slap shot.

Van Guilder completed the Cincinnati comeback with his overtime goal to give the Cyclones their fourth straight win.

The Devils have earned a point in each of their last four games, which is a season-high streak. The Devils went 0-for-2 on the power play, and killed off all three of Cincinnati's man advantages.
