Bombers Beat Royals 4-3 in Weekend Finale

Dayton, OH - The Dayton Bombers won their second straight game over the visiting Reading Royals on Mike McLean's goal in the final minute of regulation.

The Bombers were the first to strike when Mike Looby scored his first goal of the season near at 13:25 in the first, assisted by Jim Henkemeyer. The Bombers outshot the Royals 12-5 in the period.

Reading tied the game early in the second as Brock Hooten sncuk one past Dayton's Tyler Plante, making his third straight start. The Bombers would regain the lead in the period off a goal from Ryan Smyth. Henkemeyer and Bryson Busniuk tallied helpers on the play. The lead would be short lived when Reading tied the score again at the 15 minute mark in the second.

The action continued in the third when Dan Riedel scored his team leading tenth goal of the year, from Jarret Lukin and Greg Labenski, on the power play. The Bombers all but had the game sealed when Kirk MacDonald netted a goal with just more than 5 minutes remaining in regulation. As fans were preparing for an overtime session, Mike McLean scored the game winner with just 55 seconds remaining, assisted by Danny LaPointe and Justin Bowers.

Plante finished the night 19 of 22, while Reading's Danny Taylor was 32 of 36. The Bombers were 1 of 1 on the power play, while Reading finished 2 of 4.
