Cutters Comeback Late to Win Fourth Straight

Williamsport, Pa - The Crosscutters stunningly rallied for three runs in the bottom of the eighth to overcome a late 3-1 deficit and pull off an exciting 4-3 win over the Brooklyn Cyclones on Saturday night. Williamsport has won four straight and eight of its last 10.

Two wild pitches by Brooklyn reliever Luis Silva brought in the tying runs for the Cutters. Then Kendall Simmons lifted a sacrifice fly to right that drove home the winning run with Corbin Williams racing in from third.

Bryson Stott had an RBI single in the game. Johan Rojas had a triple and a run scored and the center fielder also made yet another terrific catch in the first inning racing down a deep-drive to the gap in left-center.

Erik Miller threw 3.1 innings of three-hit ball giving up two unearned runs. And lefty Brian Marconi retried six of seven batters he faced in the sixth and seventh for a strong hold.

Williamsport looks to sweep the three-game series on Sunday at 5:05 p.m. with RHP Jose Conopoima starting for the Cutters.
