Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
The Williamsport Crosscutters earned their third shutout victory of the season by defeating the Connecticut Tigers 2-0 on Saturday night at Dodd Stadium.
Cutters starter Adam Morgan turned in his best start of the year, holding the Tigers scoreless over five impressive innings. It was his longest outing of the season to date.
Williamsport finally broke the scoreless tie in the top of the seventh, as Harold Martinez launched his first home run of the year over the billboards in left for a 1-0 Cutters lead. The visitors added a second run in the eighth on a sacrifice fly by Aaron Altherr to increase the lead to 2-0.
That score would be the final, as Cutters reliever Bryan Morgado hurled four shutout innings to seal the victory and pick up his first win of the season.
These two teams will rematch here Sunday at 1:05pm and Monday at 12:05pm. Every Cutters matchup can be heard on ESPN Radio 104.1 FM, ESPN 1050 AM, or online at crosscutters.com.
