Curve Win A Dandy In Ten, 3-2

ALTOONA - The Altoona Curve were able to lock down their first win of the season against the Harrisburg Senators in walk-off fashion with a 3-2 win in 10 innings at Blair County Ballpark on Saturday night.

Every one of the 5,021 jubilant fans remained on hand to see Brad Corley's bases-loaded, game-winning single that scored James Boone to propel the Curve to victory.

Prior to Saturday's victory, Altoona had dropped their first five contests of the season against Harrisburg.

Jason Delaney provided the first two Curve runs of the contest early in the game. His two run double gave the Curve a 2-0 advantage which they would hold until the top of the sixth inning.

Starter Luis Munoz received a no decision after the right-hander pitched five scoreless innings allowing just three hits. Munoz walked four batters on Saturday.

In the sixth inning, Harrisburg cut the Curve lead in half with a RBI single off the bat of the Senator's Garrett Guzman. The tying run came across in the top of the seventh when a ground ball hit by Leonard Davis that was mishandled by second-baseman Shelby Ford.

Josh Shortslef (2-1) tossed scoreless frames in the eighth, ninth and top of the tenth to earn his second win of the season.

Sunday at BCB, fans will enjoy the third and final post-game fireworks extravaganza of the homestand. After the fireworks, kids can run the bases at BCB courtesy of Thomas Chevrolet of Bedford. Before the game, fans will be able to get the autographs of their favorite Curve players as part of a pre-game autograph session. Fans will also be able to bring a glove and baseball to play catch on the field prior to the game against the Senators.
